macOS Sequoia 15.1, iPadOS 18.1 beta 6 now available, here’s what to expect

Today Apple has released developer beta 6 for macOS Sequoia 15.1 and iPadOS 18.1. These updates bring the latest versions of Apple Intelligence’s launch features. There are also new betas for watchOS, tvOS, and more. Here’s what to expect.

New betas arrive with public launch drawing near

Today’s beta 6 releases bring us even closer to the full public launches of iPadOS 18.1 and macOS Sequoia 15.1. That means the first set of Apple Intelligence features is coming soon.

The previous beta 5 updates brought a variety of enhancements:

The full public launches of iOS 18.1, iPadOS 18.1, and macOS Sequoia 15.1 are expected within the next few weeks, with October 28 as the most likely release date.

That means today’s beta 6 updates will likely have fewer changes than what we saw in beta 5.

Apple’s focus towards the end of a beta cycle is to address as many bugs and performance issues as possible. Introducing new features tends to be counterproductive to that goal.

We’ll keep you posted on any updates we discover, however.

Platform updates released recently

Here is the full list of new betas released today:

  • iOS 18.1 beta 6
  • iPadOS 18.1 beta 6
  • macOS Sequoia 15.1 beta 6
  • visionOS 2.1 beta 4
  • watchOS 11.1 beta 4
  • tvOS 18.1 beta 4

While Apple Intelligence is the highlight of the first three releases, the latter three have been light on discoverable features to this point. The last beta of watchOS 11.1 was even pulled after reports of frozen devices.
