Clicks Keyboard for iPhone is back, and they’re pushing all the right buttons—literally. I had the chance to get hands-on with the latest model, and it’s clear that Clicks has done their homework. From ergonomics to extra features, here’s everything that stood out in my first look with their version 2 product.

Improvements from Gen 1 to Gen 2
I reviewed the first generation of the Clicks Keyboard for iPhone 15 Pro max last year, and overall, I enjoyed the experience. However, there were some quality-of-life features that were missing from the first version, which left me needing more. Now, with the second iteration of their product, Clicks has clearly listened to user feedback, addressing nearly every major point:
- Enhanced materials: The new model uses brushed metal keys and premium finishes that not only elevate the aesthetic but improve durability. Something as simple as adding clickable buttons for tactility and microfiber lining for protection really enhances the experience.
- MagSafe: A highly requested feature (by me), MagSafe integration means users don’t have to compromise between the keyboard case and being able to use a Magsafe stand or other Magsafe accessories.
- USB-C data passthrough: Using the built-in USB-C port for data and not just power is a huge deal. Customers can now connect external hard drives to transfer data, but more importantly, they can use wired Carplay without needing to take their case off.
- New ergonomic key design: Larger, contoured keys improve comfort and reduce strain, making typing smoother and more satisfying.
- Customizable with Clicks Keyboard App: The dedicated app allows users to personalize backlighting, adjust typing preferences, and configure shortcut keys, adding significant customization not available in the previous model.
Notable specs
- Device Compatibility: iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max; iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus (later this year)

- Key Features:
- Shortcut support for smart home controls, apps, and system functions
- Ergonomically redesigned keys with a contoured shape for comfort
- Customization through the Clicks Keyboard App
- Build Materials: Brushed metal side keys, microfiber interior, premium finishes
- Color Options: Surf, Spice, Onyx
Hands-On experience
So now, what was it actually like using this case? The new Clicks Keyboard for iPhone 16 Pro models is a nice leap forward in both feel and function. Right off the bat, the redesigned keys stand out—they’re comfortable, responsive, and tactile, making typing genuinely enjoyable. The keys’ contoured shape fits naturally beneath your fingers, giving each press a satisfying click that feels closer to a traditional keyboard. Clicks mentioned that they made the keys 9% larger than last year’s model, so there are fewer accidental presses, but the changed ergonomics are what really make it easier to type on. If you’re after that tactile feedback, Clicks has absolutely nailed it.
Another highlight is the balanced design. Despite being a physical attachment, it doesn’t feel overly heavy on the iPhone, allowing it to sit comfortably without tipping or weighing down your device. The keyboard is designed to keep the entire screen unobstructed, which is a game-changer for viewing content. Whether you’re streaming videos, scrolling social media, or working on documents, having the full screen at your disposal—without a virtual keyboard taking up space—truly enhances the experience.
That said, the Clicks Keyboard is on the larger side, and that’s something to consider. It’s a package that works well for those who know they want a physical keyboard for their iPhone, but it may not be for everyone. I got used to the size pretty quickly, even with the larger iPhone 16 Pro Max model, and it passed my skinny jeans pocket test! So, if you’re among those who love the idea of tactile keys and a full view of your screen, this keyboard hits all the right notes. The typing experience is excellent, and the ability to fully see and interact with media on your iPhone makes it worth the added bulk.

I wish they made is as a slider keyboard, that you would only take out when needed. Yeah, the case would be much thicker, but the form factor would make much more sense.
It’s available for purchase directly from Clicks’ official website, at select Best Buy locations in the United States and Canada, and online at BestBuy.com. Three color choices, Surf, Spice, and Onyx, add some customization to this high-performance accessory. The Onyx version ships out Oct 28th, and the other colors ship the first week in November.
Final Thoughts
The Clicks Keyboard for iPhone 16 Pro is a substantial step forward from its predecessor. By focusing on customer feedback, Clicks Technology has crafted a keyboard accessory that feels like a natural extension of the iPhone. With improved ergonomics, new material choices, and added features like MagSafe and USB-C data passthrough, the Clicks Keyboard case positions itself as the only truly recommendable option for someone looking for a keyboard case for their iPhone.
