Apple has released a new developer beta 6 update for visionOS 2.1. Vision Pro users have now gotten two new betas this week alone, as beta 5 was released this Monday.
Public visionOS 2.1 launch expected by end of month
visionOS 2.1 is the next version of the Vision Pro’s software, and it’s expected to release publicly later this month to all users—likely on October 28 alongside iOS 18.1.
While visionOS 2 came with some key upgrades to the Vision Pro experience, version 2.1 so far looks to be light on new features.
Today’s beta likely contains additional bug fixes and performance improvements in preparation for the imminent launch.
We know that some time before the end of 2024, the beloved Mac Virtual Display feature will be getting some powerful enhancements. But it’s looking like we’ll have to wait for visionOS 2.2 in December for that to drop.
