Apple Vision Pro is one of the best ways to watch video, and now there’s more ways to find great content to view. Vimeo has released a new visionOS app made specifically for Apple Vision Pro, beating YouTube to the platform. The killer feature? Spatial video sharing.
In short, Vimeo on Apple Vision Pro provides a place for anyone to share spatial video footage. While viewers need Apple Vision Pro to consume spatial video, iPhone 15 Pro and later is capable of capturing spatial video for publishing on Vimeo.
Vimeo expects spatial video sharing to reach more than professional video creators, sharing these expectations for uses:
- More immersive product demos, enhancing the way you showcase your product at trade shows or events
- Employee training and education experiences that make employees lean in and drive better retention
- Marketing campaigns that transport consumers into the content, providing more enriching touchpoints to drive engagements and, ultimately, sales
Of course, video creators will have as much fun sharing spatial video creations with viewers. To start, Jake Oleson is releasing a short film called “currents” that will debut on Vimeo on November 11. Here’s a teaser:
Vimeo for Apple Vision Pro is available on the App Store today. Oleson’s short film will be available in spatial video next month.
