OpenAI brings its lifelike ChatGPT advanced voice feature to the Mac

Move over, Siri. OpenAI is bringing its advanced voice feature for ChatGPT to the Mac and Windows starting today.

ChatGPT for Mac already included an optional, conversational method of interacting with the large language model. The more natural version of talking with ChatGPT (an improved voice and the ability to pause when you speak) was only available on ChatGPT mobile apps prior to today, however.

The good news for Mac users is that ChatGPT and Siri can happily coexist on the Mac together.

In fact, Apple Intelligence brings improvements to Siri including the ability to directly interface with ChatGPT. Look for this feature in an update to macOS Sequoia expected in December. In the meantime, Apple Intelligence officially arrived on the Mac this week with Writing Tools, Magic Wand, and more.

Apple also overhauled nearly the entire Mac line with a mix of M2, M3, and M4 chips and 16GB RAM across the board this week with an eye on Apple Intelligence features.
