M4 Macs launch day: Same-day availability, trade-in deals, more

The new MacBook Pro, iMac, and Mac mini powered by M4 are officially here. After being announced last week with pre-order availability, Apple’s new M4 Mac lineup can is now available for purchase at Apple Stores around the world.

Here’s everything you need to know about M4 Mac launch day…

New Mac mini

As a refresher, here’s what’s new with the Mac mini powered by M4 and M4 Pro:

New Design: Significantly smaller than the previous model, now 5 by 5 inches, achieved with an updated thermal architecture.
Ports: Includes two USB-C ports and a headphone jack on the front, three Thunderbolt ports, an HDMI port, and gigabit ethernet, though it omits USB-A connectivity.
Thunderbolt 5 Connectivity: The M4 Pro Mac mini supports Thunderbolt 5 with data transfer speeds reaching up to 120 Gb/s.
Performance Options: Offers configurations with either the M4 or the new M4 Pro chip, supporting up to 64GB of RAM and featuring a 14-core CPU, including 10 performance cores and 4 high-efficiency cores.
