Apple releasing Vision Pro immersive music experience from The Weeknd this Thursday

Apple has another new piece of immersive video content coming soon to the Vision Pro. The company has released a teaser trailer for ‘Open Hearts,’ a new immersive music experience from The Weeknd that’s debuting exclusively on Vision Pro this Thursday. Here’s a first look.

Immersive video releases slowly gaining speed

After a slow start early in the year with Vision Pro immersive video releases, Apple has started debuting new content on a regular basis.

One of the most high-profile releases was Submerged, the first scripted immersive short film that arrived in October. It was widely praised for its innovative storytelling mechanics and giving a glimpse at the potential for filmmaking with Vision Pro.

Shortly after Submerged, Apple released a fun highlights reel from the NBA All-Star Weekend 2024.

Next, Apple plans to debut The Weeknd’s ‘Open Hearts’ this Thursday, November 14. The company describes the video as an ‘immersive music experience.’

Here’s the brief description and the teaser trailer.

Journey alongside The Weeknd through a surreal, haunting cityscape in this electrifying sonic voyage.

Apple notes that you can watch The Weeknd’s ‘Open Hearts’ not only via your own Vision Pro device, but also in Apple Stores starting November 15.

Upcoming immersive video releases

Through the remainder of 2024, Apple still has the following releases planned:

  • a new episode in the Adventure series that “follows a freediver attempting to best his record for longest distance under ice with a single breath”
  • another music-themed video, Concert for One, which will feature British singer-songwriter RAYE and be similar to the Alicia Keys video that debuted when Vision Pro launched
