Apple announces expansion in Saudi Arabia, retail stores opening in 2026

Apple today announced that it would be expanding its retail presence in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, with the online store opening in 2025, and physical stores opening in 2026.

Following the opening of the company’s developer academy in 2021, Apple plans to continue to invest in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, bringing the Apple Online Store to the region in summer 2025. Apple says that this will bring “exceptional service and support directly from Apple in Arabic for the very first time.”

Afterwards, there’ll be multiple retail stores opened in the region, with the first of several coming in 2026. The company is currently in early stages of planning a store in Diriyah, an UNESCO World Heritage site.

Apple CEO Tim Cook said the following in a statement:

“We’re excited to be expanding here in Saudi Arabia with the launch of the Apple Store online next year, and the first of several flagship Apple Store locations starting in 2026, including an iconic store at the stunning site of Diriyah coming later.”

“Our teams are looking forward to deepening our connections with customers, and to bringing the best of Apple to help people across this country explore their passions, build their businesses, and take their ideas to the next level.”

This is part of a larger effort to expand in Saudi Arabia, and the company has spent over 10 billion SAR in the past five years. Apple also says that App Store earnings for developers in Saudi Arabia are up over 1750% since 2019.

Apple is also bringing support for express transit to the upcoming Riyadh metro, joining a list of over 250 cities.
