iOS 18.2’s new Find My feature now supported by these major airlines

Last week, iOS 18.2 introduced a handy new Find My upgrade for sharing your lost item’s location with others—including airlines. Now, Apple has announced which major airlines already support the feature.

Three major airlines now support Find My bag tracking

One of the most common uses for Find My involves adding an AirTag to your luggage and using that AirTag to track your checked bag when flying.

In iOS 18.2, Apple added the ability to share an item’s location with airlines, and previously announced that more than 15 airlines would enable support globally over the coming months. One added app integration late last week.

But today, ahead of the busy holiday travel season, we now know which of those 15 are ready to track any lost luggage right now.

Apple’s Greg Joswiak shared the details in a post on X:

Exciting news for all of us travelers! Starting this week, United, Delta, and Air Canada will accept Find My item locations to help track delayed bags, with more airlines coming soon. Such a game-changer!

So if you’re traveling this week, there are three major airlines that currently support the new Find My feature:

  • Delta
  • United
  • Air Canada

Delta and United handle a significant portion of US air travel, so that means quite a few US iPhone users will be able to share their lost bag’s location with those airlines if needed.

How to use Find My’s new airline-friendly feature

If you run into any trouble with lost luggage, here’s how you can share its location:

  1. Ensure you’re running iOS 18.2
  2. Open Find My and tap on the missing item
  3. Tap ‘Share Item Location’
  4. This will generate a webpage with shareable link for tracking the item

Airlines each offer their own method for submitting that shared link, so check with your airline for instructions.

Also, be sure to disable the tracking link after your bag has been successfully recovered.
