macOS Sequoia 15.3 beta 1 now rolling out to developers

Apple has released a new software update for Mac users running the developer beta. macOS Sequoia 15.3 beta 1 is now available, arriving five days after the public launch of macOS 15.2.

New beta arrives five days after big public launches

Apple follows a pretty standard cadence with its software releases.

The company will ship a new software version publicly to all its users, then usually within a few days, a new beta update will arrive for developers.

Often the public beta of that new software then follows another day or two afterwards.

Today’s macOS 15.3 beta 1 slightly diverges from this trend. macOS 15.2 released last Wednesday, and it has taken nearly a full week for today’s 15.3 beta to arrive. Currently, macOS 15.3 is only available for developers, but hopefully a public beta will follow in the days ahead.

At the moment, any new features or additions to macOS 15.3 are unknown, but we’ll keep you posted on all changes we discover.

Installing the macOS 15.3 beta, or avoiding it

If your Apple ID is connected to a developer account, you can start running the new macOS 15.3 software now.

To install it, simply:

  1. Open the System Settings app
  2. Go to General ⇾ Software Update
  3. Ensure that Beta Updates shows the macOS Developer Beta
  4. Click to download and install macOS 15.3

On a related note, if you’ve been running the macOS 15.2 beta before now, there’s a chance you may not be ready to install a fresh new build.

Since macOS 15.3 is only on its first beta, there are likely to be more bugs and performance issues now than there will be with later betas.

So if you’re not on board with new Mac issues cropping up, especially ahead of the holidays, then be sure to turn off Beta Updates from the Software Update screen.

Have you installed macOS 15.3? What changes have you discovered? Let us know in the comments.
