Public beta 2 for macOS 15.3, iPadOS 18.3, and more just released

One day after debuting beta 2 for developers, Apple has just released public beta 2 for its various software platforms. Beta 2 is available for macOS Sequoia 15.3, iPadOS 18.3, watchOS 11.3, and more.

Apple’s latest software releases light on new features

Apple has a variety of software updates currently available for testing by public beta users, including:

  • iOS and iPadOS 18.3
  • macOS Sequoia 15.3
  • watchOS 11.3
  • tvOS 18.3
  • and HomePod 18.3

So far during this beta cycle, the various software releases have been unusually light on new features.

Platforms that support the Home app have laid the groundwork for robot vacuum support, but little else new has been found.

Today’s beta 2 update brings a change to the Calculator app on iPad. Now, you can perform repeating calculations by hitting the equals button multiple times.

This feature was available on iPhone prior to iOS 18, but was removed as part of Apple’s Calculator updates last fall.

Now, you can repeat operations once again—and for the first time ever on iPad.

Mostly these beta updates have been focused on bug fixes and performance improvements. But as the beta cycle proceeds, it’s possible more changes will be implemented.

If you’re interested in becoming part of Apple’s public beta program for the first time, you can sign up free at beta.apple.com. That’s also where you’ll find instructions for installing the latest updates on your devices.
