Apple releases beta 3 for macOS Sequoia 15.3, visionOS 2.3

Apple has just released new beta software for Mac and Vision Pro. macOS Sequoia 15.3 and visionOS 2.3 beta 3 are rolling out now for users with a developer account. Update: macOS 15.3 beta 3 is now available for public beta testers too, just hours after the developer rollout.

macOS 15.3 brings Genmoji to the Mac, but not much else

Apple’s upcoming software releases now in beta have been particularly light on new features.

On the Mac, there’s been one notable addition to macOS 15.3 so far: Genmoji support.

Previously exclusive to the iPhone and iPad, now Genmoji are on the Mac too—built right into the Messages app.

No other significant Mac-exclusive changes have been found through the first couple betas. And no big changes at all have been discovered in visionOS 2.3.

It’s possible that today’s beta 3 release will change that though.

We’ll keep you posted on any changes discovered in the release.

To install the latest update, visit the System Settings/Settings app ⇾ General ⇾ Software Update.

If you’ve been running beta software before now, you’ll see the beta 3 update available there immediately. If not, you may need to first ensure that ‘Beta Updates’ are on, and that the developer seed is selected.

It’s possible these will be among the last betas before public launches. Last year, Apple had a very short beta cycle for its x.3 releases. If that proves true again, we could see RC (release candidate) betas debut before long.
