Apple Music enlists the King as a special radio DJ

Apple Music has partnered with His Majesty for The King’s Music Room, a special radio playlist set to celebrate this year’s Commonwealth’s Day.

During the show, King Charles will share personal anecdotes amidst his curated playlist of songs ranging from “1930s crooners to Afrobeats stars, as well as disco divas and reggae icons” …

The special one-off show is streaming for free on Apple Music 1 radio station on Monday, starting at 6 AM GMT. Additional free broadcasts will also go out across Monday and Tuesday on Apple Music 1 and Apple Music Hits stations. The King’s Music Room will also be available to listen on demand to customers with an Apple Music subscription.

Expect to hear a variety of songs crossing artists and genres, including hits from Bob Marley, Kyle Minogue, RAYE and Davido.

Apple’s public relationship with the Royals has strengthened in recent years. In December, Tim Cook visited Apple’s new UK headquarters at Battersea Power Station, giving a tour to King Charles himself.
