Since last fall, Apple has been marketing the iPhone 16 and Apple Intelligence with an unreleased Siri feature. After confirming today that the more personal version of Siri isn’t coming anytime soon, Apple has pulled the ad in question.
The commercial starred Bella Ramsey who should probably win an award for acting like Siri worked.

They really need to remove the marketing with this feature, it’s even on the new MacBook Air and all that launched this week and aside from a little footnote next to it no one would ever know this feature doesn’t exist yet. They are simply false advertising features now across virtually all their products that support “apple intelligence ”
If there isn’t a lawsuit in the works already for this I’d be surprised..
In the ad spot, Ramsey sees someone familiar approaching and asks Siri the name of the person they had a meeting with the previous month at a specific restaurant.
Siri immediately responded with the name presumably based on a calendar event, email, or message on Ramsey’s iPhone.
Today Apple announced that developing the features that would allow Siri to answer such questions that rely on on-device data is taking more time than expected.
The ad was part of a trio that included two others focused on email summarization and custom photo memory videos. Those two remain while the ad for the unreleased feature from September has been set to private on YouTube.
