iPhone 17 Air barely thicker than side buttons in latest design leak

If this design leak is correct, the rumored iPhone 17 Air will be barely thicker than its side buttons at its thinnest point.

Sonny Dickson has shared photos that show four dummy units that represent the iPhone 17 line.

The standard iPhone 17, the iPhone 17 Pro, and the iPhone 17 Pro Max are all recognizable as ordinary levels of thin.

Then there’s the alleged iPhone 17 Air model expected to take the iPhone 16 Plus’s spot in the lineup. When viewed from either side, the iPhone 17 Air dummy unit almost appears as thin as the narrow buttons for sleep/wake and volume.

I don’t get all the fuzz. Are we so hyped that it’s again thinner? Remember the iPhone 6/6s? Ok great. Where’s the innovation? I assume still same battery. What, again a even better camera. Same stuff, just a different day

This iPhone won’t just be ultra thin. Shaving off so much of the thickness likely means we can expect a very light iPhone too.

Of course, that full width camera bar runs the risk of making the iPhone 17 Air feel unbalanced and top heavy in the hand. We’ll have to wait until September to be sure.

In the meantime, however, it’s easy to see why the iPhone 17 Air will be appealing for those who want the most futuristic design.
