If you are into culinary shows (we all have our guilty pleasures, right?), you’ve probably already watched Omnivore, an Apple TV+ docuseries that explores different ingredients from various ethnographies.
Outside of Apple TV+, you might have also watched FX’s The Bear, which explores the overwhelming pressure of the impossible pursuit of perfection.
What happens if you mix the two? We’ll most likely find out soon enough.

Apple has announced “Knife Edge: Chasing Michelin Stars,” an eight-episode documentary series about elite chefs from around the globe as they battle for the culinary world’s highest honor.
Hosted by Jesse Burgess, the food and travel expert who is also one of the stomachs behind Topjaw, the show will follow along as aspiring chefs earn, lose, or maintain their Stars over the course of the year-long Michelin Guide season.
Here’s how Gordon Ramsay puts it:
As a chef, the pursuit of perfection is everything… you cannot underestimate the unbelievable drive and ambition these chefs are going through day in and day out, chasing the dream of acknowledgment from the Michelin Guide.
From London and Los Angeles to Mexico City and Copenhagen, the show will also offer a glimpse into Michelin Star judges’ methods for secretly evaluating restaurants, resorting to the use of false identities and fake phone numbers.
Here is the bad news, though. Although Apple has officially announced the show, it doesn’t yet have a premiere date.
