Hit Apple TV+ comedy with Seth Rogen returns for season 2 this August

The season finale of the Apple TV+ hit comedy The Studio is set to release tomorrow. It won’t be long, however, until you’re able to fill that Seth Rogen void in your heart.

Apple TV+ has announced that season two of Platonic, its comedy starring Rogen alongside Rose Byrne, will debut on August 6.

The first season of Platonic kicked off in May 2023 and has become one of the top-rated shows on Apple TV+. The show was co-created by Nick Stoller and Francesco Delbanco, who also serve as directors and writers.

Here’s how Apple describes Platonic season 2:

“Platonic” season two picks up with everyone’s favorite pair of best friends (Rogen and Byrne) as they contend with new midlife hurdles, including work, weddings and partners in crises. The duo tries their best to be each other’s rock — but sometimes rocks break things. The season two cast also includes Luke Macfarlane and Carla Gallo, and introduces Aidy Bryant, Kyle Mooney and Beck Bennett as guest stars.

Apple says there will be ten episodes in the second season of Platonic. The first two will drop on Wednesday, August 6, 2025, with weekly releases to follow and the season finale airing on October 1.

You can catch up on Platonic on Apple TV+ today, as well as Rogen’s other comedy The Studio. Both these shows are two of my favorites on Apple TV+.
