It supports very few leagues and competitions. Basically, it’s been ill thought out and poorly supported. If Apple are serious about sport then they need to get real, and put someone in charge who understands it. Apple act like there are only a dozen competitions in the world that are worth bothering with. It’s elitist rubbish designed by people who pretend to be serious about sports, but are interested in franchises, which is something different. For Apple to put one of their phone apps on iPad is embarrassing. The widget is exactly where you want something like this, popping up current scores of your favourite team or sportsperson, but this is so poor from a company we’ve all come to expect a lot more form.

Apple says:

To add a widget, users can choose either the “My Teams” view for scores and upcoming schedules for their favorited teams, or the “League” view to keep up with scores and schedules for every team in a league. Widgets can be customized per device, and there is no limit on how many can be added, keeping sports fans in the know with the information they care about most, no matter what device they are on.

The app is free to use, and with over 134,000 ratings is scored 4.7 out of 5.
