Johny Srouji isn’t leaving Apple, according to Johny Srouji. According to a leaked memo obtained by Bloomberg, Apple’s chip boss has recommitted to staying at the company.
Over the weekend, Bloomberg reported that Johny Srouji was “seriously considering” the decision to leave Apple. According to the report, Srouji voiced this to Apple CEO Tim Cook while telling colleagues that he would join another firm and not retire if he left Apple.
Following that report, Johny Srouji has reportedly told his team that he doesn’t plan to leave Apple anytime soon.
Mark Gurman at Bloomberg has the memo:
“I know you’ve been reading all kind of rumors and speculations about my future at Apple, and I feel that you need to hear from me directly,” he said in a memo to his division. “I am proud of the amazing Technologies we all build across Displays, Cameras, Sensors, Silicon, Batteries, and a very wide set of technologies, across all of Apple Products. Together we enable the best products in the world. I love my team, and I love my job at Apple, and I don’t plan on leaving anytime soon.”
The development follows a string of Apple leadership exits. Last week, Apple announced that AI chief John Giannandrea, environmental chief Lisa Jackson, and General Counsel Katherine Adams were leaving the company.
Separately, top software designer Alan Dye announced his departure from Apple for rival Meta.
