Apple TV dominates Golden Globes nominations across major categories

Nominations for the 2026 Golden Globes have just been announced, with Apple TV scoring 14 nominations total and looking like an early frontrunner for two of the most prized categories: Best TV Drama and Best TV Musical or Comedy.

Apple is early frontrunner in two biggest TV categories at 2026 Golden Globes

The 83rd Annual Golden Globes are set for Sunday, January 11, and Apple TV looks set to have a big night.

Nominations for this year’s awards were just announced, and Apple appears the early frontrunner for the two most prestigious TV series categories: Best Drama and Best Musical or Comedy.

Here are the full lists of nominees for those awards:

Best Television Series – Drama

  • The Diplomat (Netflix)
  • The Pitt (HBO Max)
  • Pluribus (Apple TV)
  • Severance (Apple TV)
  • Slow Horses (Apple TV)
  • The White Lotus (HBO Max)

Best Television Series – Musical or Comedy

  • Abbott Elementary (ABC)
  • The Bear (FX on Hulu)
  • Hacks (HBO Max)
  • Nobody Wants This (Netflix)
  • Only Murders in the Building (Hulu)
  • The Studio (Apple TV)

Ever since The Studio won Best Comedy at the Emmys, the series has been a strong frontrunner for the Golden Globes too.

But what’s more impressive is Apple owning three out of six Best Drama slots with Pluribus, Severance, and Slow Horses.

Getting a full 50% of the nominations for the most coveted TV prize is a big win. Though actually winning is no guarantee, as The Pitt might play spoiler again to Apple’s hopes. But unlike at the Emmys, this time Apple has Pluribus alongside Severance as another very strong contender.

Plenty of Apple TV actors were recognized with nominations too, such as Rhea Seehorn for Pluribus, Adam Scott, Britt Lower, and Tramell Tillman for Severance, and more.

Apple also got a pair of Golden Globes nominations for F1 The Movie (which hits Apple TV this week), including ‘Cinematic and Box Office Achievement’ and ‘Original Score.’

Apple TV is available for $12.99 per month and features hit TV shows and movies like Ted LassoSeverancePluribus, and more. You can also get it through the Apple One bundle.
