iOS 26.2 is expected to launch some time this week, but it looks like today might be ruled out. Apple has just shipped a second RC of iOS 26.2 for developers and public beta testers.
iOS 26.2 revised RC arrives for developers and public beta testers
Earlier today, a leaker with a strong track record of predicting Apple software launches shared two build numbers for iOS 26.2.
One of those matched the previous RC, but the second matches a new RC Apple has just debuted.
iOS 26.2’s second RC version is now available, with 23C54 as the build number. The previous RC was 23C52.
Apple is still expected to launch iOS 26.2 to all users some time this week, but following this new RC, that almost certainly won’t happen today.
Whenever an RC debuts for beta testers, Apple’s intent is that it ends up being the exact software build that ships to all users.
However, it’s not uncommon for the company to ship revised RC builds after a few days of testing. That’s what happened with tvOS 26.2 last week.
Shipping the software to beta testers can sometimes reveal critical bugs that need to be addressed. Thus, today’s updated RC build is here for iPhone.
Assuming the new RC doesn’t present any new issues, iOS 26.2 is likely to launch to all users in the days ahead.
