Nomad launches Icy Blue Stratos Band for Apple Watch

Last year, Nomad introduced an Apple Watch band that I had never seen before. It combined the athletic-minded FKM rubber they use for their sports bands with the high-end, high-quality titanium they use for their Titanium Band, and called it Stratos. This band blew me away, and I’ve used it basically every day since then. Now they are back with a new colorway, and they have just bought their Icy Blue Glow material over to the Stratos band for a limited time. This thing is a showstopper.

Icy Blue Stratos Band

I gave my hands-on review on the original Stratos band here for those who want to check it out. It was the perfect band for how I use my Apple Watch. On the inside of the band, the portion that touches my skin, it had the feel of the sports band with its rubber FKM links, and on the top side, it looked and felt just as premium as the Nomad Titanium. So, for me, it brought the best of both worlds. I could dress it all the way up and all the way down! Here are some of the key specs:

  • Grade 4 titanium hardware
  • Scratch-resistant DLC coating
  • Limited Edition Icy Blue Glow interior links
  • Flexible link design that contours around your wrist
  • Magnetic clasp
  • A tool is included for adjusting band length
  • Water-resistant design

As I stated, the combination of materials and comfort makes this one of the most wearable Apple Watch bands I have ever tested.

My experience

As I mentioned, I have been using the original Stratos band since it was released, and I think it’s fantastic. It’s comfortable, lightweight, and works in pretty much any scenario. I have been using the Black on Orange look, which works great with my black Apple Watch Ultra. The orange accent matches the action button beautifully. What I really enjoy about this watch is that you get the best of both worlds. Before this watch, I had to choose between my sports band and my Titanium band. Now I just wear this one and don’t even have to think about it. This band is on the expensive side, starting at $179, but a Titanium band will cost you $200+ from other retailers, and then a good sports band is around $49. So it is nice to have the option to get both materials in one.

Pricing and availability

The new Icy Blue Glow Stratos band is available today from Nomad’s site. You can choose between Black and Natural titanium hardware colors, and each will come with Icy Blue Glow FKM rubber. The limited-edition Icy Blue is $189 and will sell out extremely quickly. Nomad will still offer their original color combos for $179. While this band is made with the Apple Watch Ultra in mind, it will still fit pretty much any regular Apple Watch as well!
