Shrinking is officially getting a season 4 on Apple TV

Shrinking season 3 kicks off tonight on Apple TV with a special hour-long premiere. But Apple has more good news for Shrinking fans: the comedy has just been renewed for season 4.

Shrinking season 4 is on the way, with strong ensemble returning

One of Apple TV’s most beloved series, Shrinking, returns tonight with its season 3 premiere.

Co-creator Bill Lawrence has said for years that he came into the show with a three-season arc in mind. The first season was about grief, season 2 about forgiveness, and season 3 is focused on moving forward.

But Lawrence has also teased that he could see the series continuing beyond that initial plan. And Apple has just confirmed that’s happening.

Shrinking season 4 is officially in the works at Apple TV. The announcement was just made today, hours ahead of the season 3 premiere.

Though there’s no specific timing given, Apple does mention returning cast members:

Today, Apple TV announced an early season four renewal for the beloved hit comedy “Shrinking,” starring Emmy Award nominee Jason Segel and multi-award winner Harrison Ford. Bringing more heart and humor, the series will also see the return of cast members Christa Miller, Emmy Award nominee Jessica Williams, Luke Tennie, Emmy Award nominee Michael Urie, Lukita Maxwell and Ted McGinley.

Shrinking is one of my all-time favorite Apple TV shows, so I’m thrilled that it’s continuing beyond the initial three-season plan.

With Ted Lasso season 4 coming later this year, and another season of Bad Monkey also in the works, Apple TV seems set to keep delivering Bill Lawrence comedies for years to come.

Apple TV is available for $12.99 per month, or you can get it discounted through the Apple One bundle.
