Apple is holding a special event for press on Wednesday, March 4 in three locations around the world, and rumors indicate there are lots of new products that could launch. Here’s everything to expect, including hardware launches, format, and more.
Format: In-person event for press, possibly following multi-day launches
Apple is doing something unusual with its March product rollouts. Historically, the company has at times had a live-streamed event or keynote video in March, and other times it’s launched new products via press releases. There have also been occasions when press has been invited to private briefings that they couldn’t disclose in advance.
This March, it sounds like Apple will take a unique approach.
The company invited press to a “special Apple Experience” happening simultaneously in New York, London, and Shanghai. The invites were not made under NDA, so they quickly spread online.
Well-informed sources like Mark Gurman have said Apple intends to roll out new products daily in the lead-up to March 4. That means we could get hardware launches via press release on Monday March 2, Tuesday March 3, and Wednesday March 4. Then, press would get to try all of the new products in person.
All of this means there likely won’t be an “event video,” but we might get shorter videos each day alongside the new product announcements.
New products: All of the potential hardware launching
Apple has an especially large batch of new products rumored to be coming soon. There are new Macs, iPads, and even a new iPhone expected soon.
Here’s an overview of what might launch on March 4 or in the days just beforehand:
- iPhone 17e: A19 chip, Center Stage front camera, MagSafe
- Base iPad: A18 chip with Apple Intelligence support
- M4 iPad Air: M4 chip with few other changes
- MacBook: Fun colors, low cost, A18 Pro chip
- M5 MacBook Air: New M5 chip and likely refreshed color options
- MacBook Pro with M5 Pro and Max: 14-inch and 16-inch models with high-end M5 chips
- M5 Mac Studio: M5 Max option and also a brand new M5 Ultra chip
- Apple Studio Display 2: 120Hz ProMotion support, HDR
- Second Mac Display: Two Mac displays are coming, so this might be a new Pro Display XDR
There are also a few ‘wildcard’ Apple Home products that have been rumored for a while, but haven’t shipped yet. Reporting indicates the hardware is being held back by Siri’s delayed upgrades, so they’re unlikely to launch in early March—but it’s always possible.
Wildcard products include:
- Apple TV 4K with A17 Pro: Upgraded chip for Apple Intelligence support, possibly built-in camera
- HomePod Touch: Brand new product with 7-inch touch screen, centered around AI Siri
- HomePod mini 2: New chip, audio improvements, and more
