iPadOS 26.4 beta 2 is now available, rolling out for developers via the Software Update screen in Settings.
New features in iPadOS 26.4 beta so far
Apple has released a new wave of beta updates today, including iPadOS 26.4 beta 2.
The first beta of iPadOS 26.4 came with a variety of new features for iPad users.
New features so far include:
- Apple Music has a new design for albums and playlists, there’s an AI-powered Playlist Playground feature, concert info is now available, and you can add songs to multiple playlists at once
- Safari once again lets you use a compact tab bar
- The wallpaper gallery has been revamped
- Reminders adds an ‘Urgent’ smart list
- New Home screen widget for Ambient Music
- Apple Podcasts has upgraded video features coming
- Freeform has new Apple Creator Studio-exclusive features

There’s no sign of Siri’s AI upgrades, and reporting indicates those may not arrive until iOS and iPadOS 26.5.
Code from beta 1 revealed that Apple plans to add new emoji via the 26.4 software cycle, so those may arrive today in beta 2.
Otherwise, we’re expecting further refinements and changes to iPadOS in beta 2, as we’re still a ways off from the expected public launch.
We’ll keep you posted on everything new we discover.
