Spotify is rolling out new discovery charts, but not for music

Spotify is continuing its push into the world of books with a new Audiobook Charts discovery feature. The feature is available to explore starting today in the United States and United Kingdom for free and paid Spotify users.

Spotify pushing further into books with Audiobook Charts discovery feature

Spotify hopes its new Audiobook Charts feature will serve as a directory for discovering new audiobook titles on the service:

Audiobook Charts for the U.S. and U.K. are now accessible to Free and Premium users within the Audiobooks hub. In the Spotify app, tap Search and select the “Audiobooks” tile to enter the hub. From there, scroll down to the “Dive deeper” shelf to find the charts. […]

This launch is designed to benefit the entire audiobook ecosystem. For book lovers, charts provide a trusted guide to the titles people are listening to right now. For authors and the publishing industry, they create opportunities for books to be discovered, helping stories reach new audiences and build lasting fandom.

Spotify wants to help you listen to more than music

You can view the new Audiobook Charts hub online without being signed in to get an idea of what to expect.

Last month, Spotify launched a feature called Page Match that lets you scan physical book pages to easily find the same location in an audiobook version.

Meanwhile, in the music space, Spotify launched a new feature for Premium members that can improve the way playlists sound through smarter transitions between songs.
