Apple Music suffering second outage in two weeks [Update: Resolved]

Update: Apple’s System Status page says the outage was resolved at 8:07 p.m. ET. The original story follows below.

Following last week’s outage, Apple Music is down for some users again, according to Apple’s System Status page. Here are the details.

Apple Music suffers second outage within a week

Last week, Apple Music experienced an outage that began at 5:00 p.m. ET on Thursday and continued intermittently until 12:00 p.m. ET on Friday.

Today, the service is facing another outage, with Apple’s System Status page confirming the issue at 2:38 p.m. ET, and noting that some users “may be experiencing intermittent issues.”

It is currently unknown what is causing these issues, and reports on Downdetector suggest the outage is trending downward.

This suggests Apple Music may be coming back online after the instability. Still, if you’ve been trying to listen and weren’t sure whether the issue was your connection or Apple’s platform, it appears to be the latter for now.

We’ll keep an eye on the situation and update this post once Apple marks it as resolved or provides additional details.
