A big update to Flighty, the popular flight-tracking app, is available on the App Store today. The latest version of Flighty makes the app even more powerful, headlined by a powerful new Connection Assistant feature. Here’s how it works.
Flighty’s new Connection Assistant feature includes step-by-step information for your specific connection. This includes things like terminal changes, security checkpoints, passport control, and more. Connection Assistant also gives you estimates of how long each step of making a connection usually takes.
“The new Connection Assistant combines Flighty’s best-in-class flight tracking data with airport-specific procedures and statistical modeling of millions of prior flights, and then turns it all into guidance for your exact trip,” the Flighty team explained in a press release today.
Connection Assistant also factors in typical connection times and personalized guidance:
- Typical Connection Time: Timing for each checkpoint is based on historical patterns and normal conditions, so you have a clearer picture of whether your connection is realistic. Adding your booking class or seat can help inform it further.
- Personalized Guidance: Add your passport(s) to unlock tailored instructions, including whether you can use e-gates, skip passport control, and more. The app dynamically displays only the steps that apply to your citizenship.

Today’s Flighty update also adds a new Gate Predictions feature, which the team describes as an “industry-first.” Flighty will now use historical data to predict your flight’s arrival and departure gates, gate range, or concourse.
All of this, of course, joins Flighty’s robust existing feature set, which includes in-depth flight data, delay predictions, airport intelligence, and much more.
Flighty is available on the App Store as a free download. Flighty Pro is available with a $ 4.99-per-week or $ 59.99-per-year subscription. There’s also a lifetime purchase option available for $299.
