Tapbots launches Pastebot 3 with improved organization and automation tools

Pastebot, one of the most popular clipboard managers for Mac, was updated today, nearly ten years after the release of Pastebot 2. Here are the details.

Pastebot 3 now available

Tapbots today announced Pastebot 3 (via MacMagazine), in a social media post that also included some personal news:

Today is a big day! Last year, we had a family member diagnosed with cancer. It hit us hard financially and halted work. While one of us was busy taking care of family, we decided it was best to use the time building a new version of another app. We are excited to release PB 3! tapbots.com/pastebot/

Importantly, Pastebot 3 requires macOS 26 Tahoe or later and comes with a 14-day free trial. Users can buy the app directly from Tapbots for $39 or subscribe through the App Store for $2.99 per month or $24.99 per year. The company says the App Store version is still awaiting Apple’s approval.

The direct purchase includes one year of updates, with additional years available for $19 each. Users who stop paying for updates can continue using the latest version covered by their purchase. Pastebot 2 owners can also get a $12.99 upgrade discount by entering their existing license key at checkout.

The Pastebot 3 website highlights several features, some new and others already familiar to longtime users. That includes:

Clipboard History: At its most basic level, Pastebot keeps a running history of everything you copy so you can easily find and paste again.

Custom Pastebins: Organize and store important and often-used clippings forever in Custom Pastebins and create rule-based Smart Pastebins.

Quick Paste Menu: The quick paste menu will shortly become an essential tool on your Mac. Just Shift + Command + V in any app and the power of Pastebot springs up at your fingertips.

Powerful Filters: The real power of Pastebot is revealed with filters. Create custom filters and quickly apply them before pasting.

Create a Stack: Ever needed to copy multiple items and then paste one after another in sequence? Stacks allow you to do just this.

Tapbots also highlights other features, such as iCloud Sync, Shortcuts and CLI support, keyboard shortcuts, universal clipboard, and more.
