Ted Lasso season 5 gets exciting new status update

Ted Lasso season 4 still has many new episodes yet to air, but an exciting update reported by Sigmund Judge indicates that after the finale airs, the wait for season 5 may not be too long.

Apple will reportedly begin filming Ted Lasso season 5 in January

When Ted Lasso season 3 wrapped in 2023, it very much felt like an end to the series. Despite many viewers (and cast members) wanting the show to continue, its fate was uncertain.

Now that Ted Lasso is finally back, all signs have pointed to Apple and Jason Sudeikis planning for several new seasons.

And a series of posts today from Sigmund Judge on X brings good news on that front.

Judge has previously reported accurate breaking news on Ted Lasso and other Apple TV-related series too.

With a production start date set for just a few months from now, it does seem very likely that we’ll see Ted Lasso return to Apple TV for season 5 in 2027.

Season 4 will continue airing new episodes through October 7, so there’s plenty more Lasso to enjoy in the meantime. Even though Apple hasn’t officially renewed the show yet, it’s likely that the season 5 renewal announcement will happen near the end of season 4’s run.

In related news, Ted Lasso co-creator Bill Lawrence has another Apple series, Bad Monkey, returning later this year. And his popular show Shrinking is expected to come back for season 4 in early 2027.
