Brydge, the Apple accessory company that came back from the dead back in 2023, has just announced a new set of colour-matched keyboards for the entry-level iPad.
While Apple offers the iPad itself in a choice of four colours, the Magic Keyboard for it is only available in white. That’s what prompted Brydge to launch its latest lineup …
The 11-inch base model iPad is available in a choice of silver, blue, pink, and yellow. Brydge is now offering what it describes as a premium aluminium keyboard to match each of the four colours.
The idea is simple: you chose your favorite iPad color. Now your keyboard can match it. Most aluminum iPad keyboards are offered in traditional neutral finishes. Brydge 11.0 takes a different approach, using color-matched anodized aluminum designed to match the iPad’s own Blue, Pink, Yellow and Silver finishes […] creating a setup that looks like it belongs together, rather than an iPad with a keyboard simply added on.
The company says that it offers the build quality and features Brydge products are known for. This includes a solid aluminium construction, a full-size backlit keyboard with 1.3mm of travel, an all-glass multi-touch trackpad supporting all iPadOS gestures, and strong magnets to hold the iPad in place. Bluetooth automatically reconnects when the case is opened.
Battery life is said to be up to three months without the backlight and a total of 40 hours’ use with the backlight on. It is recharged via USB-C.
Known as the Brydge 11.0, the keyboard is compatible with the iPad (10th generation) and iPad (A16), and costs $159. This compares to $249 for Apple’s Magic Keyboard Folio. The lineup is set to go on sale on the company’s website and official Amazon store around the middle of the month.
