Apple increased the prices of most of its products back in June. iPhones escaped at the time, but we are expecting today’s iPhone 18 Pro models to be more expensive than their predecessors.
It had earlier been suggested that iPhone price rises could be as high as $200, but the latest reporting suggests that it will instead be $100. MacRumors is now expecting a little more relief for some upgraders.
Apple will today expand its trade-in program to offer better pricing for devices with minor cosmetic defects, MacRumors understands.
The report suggests that the company will be more forgiving of things like small cracks to the display glass, offering the same trade-in values as for cosmetically perfect devices. While the initiative clearly seems geared to maximizing upgrade potential for the latest iPhones, the policy is expected to apply across the complete product range.
The changes are said to take effect immediately when the Apple Store comes back online after the event.
