Apple unveiled the highly anticipated iPhone Duo today, its first-ever foldable iPhone. I spent a quick few minutes with the device after it was announced, here’s what it looks like in the real world.

It looks and functions better than any foldable on the market. However, in this economy it is too expensive at the wrong time, and doesn't offer anything or solve any problem that existing devices don't all ready address. It is a niche product for a niche market.
The iPhone Duo features a 7.6-inch Super Retina XDR inner display with a 5.4-inch outer display. The inner display has a nano-texture matte finish that minimizes crease visibility and reduces glare. It does its job well, as I found it hard to notice a crease at most angles. The design of the hinge is also impressive.
iPhone Duo looks just as incredible in person as it did in today’s keynote video. It feels very futuristic, like some sort of engineering marvel. The form factor is going to unlock a ton of clever use cases, both for productivity and consumption. The software experience is impressive, highlighted by the gradual blur transition that happens when you open or close the phone.
