visionOS 27 release date: Here’s when the new update launches

Today Apple unveiled its latest hardware products during the “Surprise and shine” event, where we also learned the release date for visionOS 27, the new software update for Vision Pro.

visionOS 27 releases Monday, September 14 for Apple Vision Pro

Apple’s September event is always focused primarily on hardware announcements. And today that’s been true as well.

But the company also shared the release date for its upcoming major new software versions, including visionOS 27.

visionOS 27 will release on Monday, September 14 for all Vision Pro users.

The update’s most notable new features include:

  • Siri AI and the dedicated Siri app
  • Visual intelligence, letting you ask Siri about anything you’re looking at
  • Turn panoramas into spatial scenes
  • New Thórsmörk built-in Environment
  • Windows with curvature
  • Extra-small widgets
  • AI upgrades in Safari, Passwords, Image Playground, more
  • Redesigned Control Center
  • Expand notifications with your eyes

visionOS 27 will release alongside Apple’s other new software updates like iOS 27, macOS Golden Gate, and more.
