Less than a week after releasing macOS 26.7.1 and macOS 15.8.1 RC 1, Apple is now rolling out the second release candidates ahead of their official release. Here are the details.
Second RCs for macOS 26.7.1 and 15.8.1 now available
Last week, Apple rolled out the first release candidates for macOS Tahoe 26.7.1 and macOS Sequoia 15.8.1. On that same day, the company released macOS 27.2 beta 1, instead of what most users and developers expected: macOS 27.1 beta 1 and its counterparts.
While macOS 27.2 beta 1 introduced support for French, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, and Spanish in Siri AI, the betas for macOS Tahoe 26.7.1 and macOS Sequoia 15.8.1 were less eventful, with Apple mentioning only that they “provide(s) important security fixes and (are) recommended for all users.”
Apple will likely release the security details for macOS Tahoe 26.7.1 and macOS Sequoia 15.8.1 once they’re officially launched in the coming weeks.
The release build for macOS Tahoe 26.7.1 RC 2 is 25G313, while the build for macOS Sequoia 15.8.1’s second RC is 24H212.
