Apple partners with The King’s Trust on new Creative Labs initiative in the UK

Apple and The King’s Trust announced today an expansion of their partnership with a new education program that offers workshops to help young people build creative and digital skills. Here are the details.

Apple’s partnership with The King’s Trust dates back to 2019

In a Newsroom post published today, Apple and The King’s Trust announced the “Apple x King’s Trust Creative Labs” initiative, which will “offer young people meaningful engagement with Apple experts across industries as they explore a variety of career pathways, equipping them with the technology, resources, skills, confidence, and expertise needed to realize their potential.”

According to Apple, the program’s immersive educational experience began earlier this week with “music industry and creative workshops, aligned to the recent opening of Apple Music Hall.”

Apple says the first cohort will include up to 20 participants aged 18 to 30, with additional sessions and cohorts planned over the next year.

Here’s Alisha Johnson Wilder, Apple’s senior director of Global Community Impact, on what the initiative means for Apple and its partnership with The King’s Trust:

“At Apple, we believe education is a powerful force for equity and opportunity. […] For years, we’ve been proud to work alongside The King’s Trust to spark creativity and open doors for young people across the UK. With the launch of the Apple x King’s Trust Creative Labs, we’re taking that commitment further, connecting the next generation of creators and innovators directly with our experts, technology, and mentorship to help them build vital skills, discover their passions, and thrive in the workforce.”

Jonathan Townsend, The King’s Trust’s UK chief executive, also commented on the initiative, calling it “an exciting new chapter in our partnership that will help even more young people develop the confidence and creative digital skills they need to take their next steps toward employment.”

In the announcement, Apple said it is also working with The King’s Trust on resources to improve AI literacy and help educators incorporate new technologies into their teaching.
