Apple TV just unveiled the new season of last year’s hit comedy

One of Apple TV’s hit comedy series from last year, Stick, is coming back for season 2 soon. Here’s the new trailer for Stick’s highly anticipated return.

Stick season 2 is coming November 4, here’s the trailer

Ted Lasso just wrapped up its fourth season, but Apple TV has another heartfelt sports comedy ready to take its place.

Stick returns for season 2 on Wednesday, November 4, with two episodes available initially then weekly releases through December 30.

For the unfamiliar, Stick stars Owen Wilson as an ex-pro golfer—Pryce Cahill—whose career ended prematurely. But after helping train a 17-year-old golf phenom in season 1, the new season sees Cahill get back to the game himself.

And he’ll do it with the help of a new coach played by Rhea Seehorn (“Pluribus”).

Here’s Apple’s official season summary, followed by the new trailer:

In season two, Santi takes the next step in his pursuit of professional golf, only to discover how quickly the game changes when talent becomes expectation. As Santi chases his dream, Pryce finds himself wondering what might still be possible for him. Urged on by his former rival Clark Ross (Timothy Olyphant), Pryce does something nobody expects: he bets on himself, launching an improbable comeback in hopes of becoming the oldest golfer ever to win a major. But the road back proves far harder than he imagined. And the closer Pryce gets to the golfer he once was, the more he is forced to confront why he never fulfilled the promise everyone once saw in him. With brilliant new coach Amanda (Rhea Seehorn) and trusted caddie Mitts (Marc Maron) in his corner, Pryce sets out to prove — to the golf world and, more importantly, to himself — that maybe he really was as good as everyone always said he was.

In my experience, you don’t have to care about golf at all to enjoy Stick.

The show feels similar in spirit to other Apple comedies like Ted Lasso and Shrinking. In my view it especially hit its stride near the end of the season, so I’m excited to see it return.

If you’re looking for more Apple series to check out, Small Prophets just premiered and is being hailed as a “masterpiece” and in contention for the streamer’s best show this year.
