Watch the iPhone Duo run a Shortcuts automation when it is opened or closed [Video]

A new video demo shows that you can use the Shortcuts app to trigger automations on opening or closing the iPhone Duo.

One potential use for this is to configure the iPhone Duo to automatically lock when you fold it …

Developer pdfu discovered the code last month, but this is the first time we’ve seen a video of the new feature in action.

Available triggers are when the phone is opened, closed, or either opened or closed. In the demo video below, YouTuber Stephen Robles uses the Open trigger to automatically open a productivity app.

Robles confirmed in the thread that you can use the automation to automatically lock the phone when you close it. More whimsically, a commenter suggested they would use the AOL Instant Messenger door open and closing sound, originally used to notify you when a contact logged on or off.

How would you use the automation? Please share your ideas in the comments.
