tvOS 26 amps up Apple Music Sing and will turn your iPhone into a karaoke mic

If you’ve been singing into the TV remote while using Apple Music Sing on your Apple TV, it’s time for an upgrade. As announced yesterday, you will soon get to use your iPhone as a wireless mic, with your voice coming straight through the Apple TV’s speakers. Here’s what it looks like.

Shout it out loud

Last year, Apple debuted Apple Music Sing, which lets you dial down the vocal track on most Apple Music songs, so you can take the lead and show off the singing skills you’ve spent a lifetime perfecting in the shower.

Now, the feature is set to get more interactive and integrated into Apple’s ecosystem. With tvOS 26, you’ll get to turn your Apple TV into an actual karaoke machine, even allowing for multiple people to join the party using their own iPhones.

Users will be able to sing, queue up songs, and even send emoji reactions that pop up onscreen while someone’s performing.

Big lyrics push for Apple Music

As with Apple Music on iOS 26 and other platforms, tvOS 26 will also feature the new Lyrics Translation and Lyrics Pronunciation tools. Here is the planned availability, according to Apple:

Lyrics Translation available for select songs in the following languages: English to Chinese (simplified), English to Japanese, Korean to Chinese (simplified), Korean to English, Korean to Japanese, and Spanish to English. Lyrics Pronunciation available for select songs in the following scripts: Cantonese to Jyutping, Chinese (simplified) to Pinyin, Chinese (traditional) to Pinyin, Hindi to Romanized Hindi, Japanese to Romanized Japanese, Korean to Katakana, Korean to Romanized Korean, and Punjabi to Romanized Punjabi.

Like the rest of Apple’s operating systems announced during the WWDC25 keynote, tvOS 26 brings the new Liquid Glass design, as well as welcome quality-of-life improvements such as easier profile switching, and a more streamlined sign in process for tvOS apps.

The developer beta for tvOS 26 is available right now, and the public beta is expected to be released next month.
