Contactless payment acceptance on iPhone expands to Mexico

In addition to announcing major Apple Business changes today, Apple is launching Tap to Pay on iPhone in Mexico.

Tap to Pay on iPhone started in the US with a gradual rollout in 2022. A year ago, the contactless payment acceptance feature expanded to nine new countries.

As of today, Tap to Pay on iPhone is officially supported in Mexico. This allows businesses of all sizes to accept contactless payments on iPhone without any special hardware.

Supported payment processing platforms in Mexico include Adyen, Clip, Mercado Pago and Visa Acceptance Platform.

Tap to Pay on iPhone expanding to Mexico means Apple has fully rolled out the contactless payment acceptance feature across North America. You can find every supported region and payment processing platform per region here.
