GM rolling out native Apple Music app to more cars starting today

Last December, GM began rolling out a dedicated, native Apple Music app for select Cadillac and Chevrolet cars. Now, the automaker has announced another expansion of its Apple Music app, this time to select Buick and GMC cars.

Here’s the full list of Buick and GMC cars adding support for Apple Music:

Buick

  • 2026 Enclave
  • 2026 Envision

GMC

  • 2025–2026 Acadia
  • 2025–2026 Canyon
  • 2025–2026 Sierra EV
  • 2025–2026 Terrain
  • 2025–2026 Yukon and Yukon XL
  • 2026 HUMMER EV SUV and HUMMER EV Pickup

According to GM, the Apple Music app will appear automatically on these cars starting today. With this expansion, the company says that Apple Music is available across 1.2 million cars on the road today.

Audio streaming apps, including Apple Music, are included for eight years through OnStar Basics on new GM cars.

Since GM started rolling out its native Apple Music app last December, the move has largely been viewed as a bandaid for the automaker’s CarPlay problem. Almost exactly three years ago, GM announced that it was ditching CarPlay in its future EVs. Most recently, it also confirmed that it will “gradually” abandon the platform on more cars in the future.

A native Apple Music app gives GM drivers one aspect of the CarPlay experience. There are, of course, countless aspects of the CarPlay experience GM drivers are still missing — like Apple Maps, Apple Podcasts, third-party iPhone apps, and more.
