iPadOS 26.5 beta 1 now available, plus tvOS 26.5, watchOS 26.5, more

Apple has kicked off a new wave of beta software updates today, releasing developer beta 1 for iPadOS 26.5, tvOS 26.5, watchOS 26.5, and more.

Apple releases iPadOS 26.5 beta 1 and more new beta updates

If you’re part of Apple’s developer beta program, there are new updates available to install today.

Headlined by iOS 26.5 and macOS 26.5, Apple has also released beta 1 for:

  • iPadOS 26.5
  • tvOS 26.5
  • watchOS 26.5
  • visionOS 26.5
  • HomePod 26.5

These new software updates might offer the first glimpses of Siri’s Gemini-powered upgrades.

Rumors have increasingly pointed to iOS 27 being the release that will fully transform Siri. But Mark Gurman has previously reported that some new Siri features might arrive in iOS 26.5 and its companion updates too.

Historically, Apple’s x.5 software updates have shipped to the public in May.

As a result, these are likely the last releases with noteworthy new features before iOS 27 is unveiled at WWDC in June.

If you’re part of Apple’s public beta program, public versions of the 26.5 updates are not available yet. It’s likely they’ll be released within the coming days. However, Apple also might opt to delay the first public beta a bit longer.

We’ll keep you posted on any noteworthy changes and new features in iPadOS 26.5 and its companion releases.
