VESA Studio Display XDR customers will receive refund following price drop

Apple issued a rare price drop on an existing product with the VESA mount adapter version of the Studio Display XDR. It turns out customers who already spent the full original price will receive a refund.

Since publishing our story this morning, multiple readers have flagged that Apple is issuing a refund for the difference.

In the US, there’s a $400 gap in price between the VESA mount adapter version and tilt- and height-adjustable stand version.

The lack of a price difference was especially notable when the new display was announced.

That’s because Apple sold the now-discontinued Pro Display XDR for a base price, and charged a hefty premium for the stand.

It turns out customers won’t actually need to request a refund either.

Customers who purchased the VESA mount option at the original price will automatically be refunded the difference.

That’s great news for early customers, and the price difference is much more fair going forward.
