This charger gives you real-time charging diagnostics, temperature data, and more

Over the years, as battery tech has progressed, chargers have gotten faster, smaller, and more efficient. Do you remember those small 5W chargers Apple used to give us? That same size can now fit 60 watts of power output. But now all of these chargers look and behave the same. Cuktech’s new 100W GaN charger adds a beautiful real-time diagnostics display that gives you all the information you would ever need and want. Having visibility into exactly how fast something is charging is something I have always wanted. And it does even more than just that. Here is what you need to know.

CUKTECH 100W Ultra Charger

This charger seems to do everything you would ever need. It is built around GaN charging tech, allowing it to be much smaller than a regular 100W charger. It’s designed to let you charge up to four devices at once, and give you all the real-time data that corresponds to each product being charged. You get:

  • 110W total max output
  • Four ports total: 3 USB-C and 1 USB-A
  • Fast charge capable: Can charge MacBook Pro 14in 50% in just 30 minutes
  • Smart display with real-time wattage monitoring
  • Live temperature monitor (love this feature)
  • Includes 240W USB-C cable

On paper, it checks a lot of boxes you would want out of a wall charger. It is also smaller than you would think, making it perfect to bring with you wherever you go. But how does it work practically?

My experience

This charger has actually been great for my day-to-day. Of course, it works great as a charger. You get three USB-C ports and a USB-A port. So I have been using this to charge my main devices like my MacBook Pro, my iPad Pro, my iPhone, but also to charge other things like my lav mic, or my camera battery station that still uses USB-A. But, as someone who is constantly reviewing new products, this charger has been fantastic for testing charge speeds.

For example, during my MacBook Neo testing, Apple did not mention how fast you could charge the laptop. So to find the amx charging speed of the MacBook Neo, I used the Cuktech charger to show me how fast it charges. It capped out at about 30W. Same with smaller tech, like the DJI Osmo Pocket, or the new AirPods Max 2. This charger can give you awesome insights into how fast or slow some of your tech charges. You would be surprised how slow some tech is charging, especially accessories.

The last standout feature has to be the temperature reading. There is a touch-sensitive area that allows you to cycle through different views on the display. One view shows the real-time temperature reading. What is great about this is that not only does it give you the info, but it will tell you that if the temperature gets too high, it will slow down the charge to make sure it stays below a certain temperature for safety. The UI is actually really nice, and it’s good to know that it takes temperature into account, especially when it’s being used at its full capacity.

I highly recommend this charger. It works as intended, has multiple uses for me beyond just being a charger, and the smart display is fantastic.

Pricing, availability & final thoughts

CUKTECH’s 100W charger is available exclusively on Amazon for $59. CUKTECH also includes a nice 240W cable in the packaging, which is a great addition. As I said above, this charger is an easy recommendation for a few reasons. You, of course, get a capable charger that charges four devices at once. But the techie in me loves the real-time data and the ability to test charging speeds of different products.

What do you think of this? Is that diagnostic display enough to warrant a purchase? Is charging speed visibility something you care about? Let’s discuss below!
