Apple TV unveils return of acclaimed London crime thriller

Apple TV’s next crime thriller is the return of Criminal Record, with season 2 premiering later this month—here’s the new trailer.

Criminal Record season 2 trailer arrives ahead of April 22 premiere

Apple TV’s most famous London-set series remains Slow Horses, but Criminal Record offers another British crime thriller well worth checking out.

The first season was praised by critics, bolstered by strong performances from stars Peter Capaldi and Cush Jumbo. And a new season is almost here.

Criminal Record season 2 premieres Wednesday, April 22 with its first episode, followed by weekly releases through June 10.

Here’s the season summary, followed by the new trailer:

“Criminal Record” is a powerful, character-driven drama set in the heart of contemporary London, exploring the impossibility of policing when the truth is up for grabs. In season two, when a young man is stabbed to death at a political rally, rival police officers June Lenker and Daniel Hegarty are forced into an uneasy alliance. But what starts as a hunt for a murderer escalates into an undercover operation to foil a far-right bomb plot in the heart of London.

If you’re looking for more thriller and/or crime-centric recommendations, Apple TV’s Imperfect Women and Your Friends & Neighbors are airing now. Additionally, French-language series The Hunt just debuted its season finale today.
