Hands-on: Satechi’s 3-in-1 Qi2 charger brings 25W of power with a clean Apple aesthetic [Video]

I have been a Satechi customer for years. I have used countless of their accessories, from iPad hubs to their computer peripherals to their chargers. They make some awesome, high-quality accessories that fit that Apple aesthetic. Most recently, they released their 3-in-1 Qi2 folding wireless charging stand, and it checks every box I would want from a charger like this. It has fast chargers, has a super clean design with great material choices, and can be used on a desk or on the go. Here is what you should know.

If you want to see a hands-on look with the charger, be sure to check out our latest video reviewing this thing!

Satechi 3-in-1 Charger specs and design

This new charger was built with the newer Qi2.2 wireless standard, meaning that it brings faster and more efficient 25W charging speeds, especially for iPhones. You get:

  • Up to 25W Qi2 wireless charging for iPhone
  • 5W charging for AirPods or Qi earbuds
  • 5W Apple Watch charging with fast charge support (Series 7 and newer)
  • Foldable design for portability
  • Supports portrait and landscape viewing (perfect for StandBy mode)
  • Includes a 45W USB-C charging brick and comes with US, EU, and UK plug adapters

It is nice that this brings the latest and greatest when it comes to wireless charging for your iPhone. If you have an iPhone 16 or newer, it will charge at the full 25W. If your iPhone is older, then it will still give 15W of wireless charging.

Another feature of this charger is the build quality and materials. It’s made of aluminum, giving it this nice space grey Apple aesthetic. The base of the charger also has some nice heft to it, which adds to the high-quality appeal. They also decided to round off all the sides and corners to give it a much more inviting look and feel. Everything is curved and feels sleek. The charging pad itself has this soft rubber finish, which protects the aluminum on your iPhone if you are charging caseless. But now, how does it work day to day?

My experience

The first thing you notice is the build and the weight of this thing. It feels nice and hefty, like a premium product. The charger is made of anodized aluminum, giving it a very similar feel to other Apple products. Another key design feature is that this is a folding charger, so it is made with travel in mind, but since it also has that nice hefty base, it feels like a permanent fixture charger that I can use daily on my desk. Most travel-focused chargers are lightweight, which is good for travel, but not so great for people who want to use them as a permanent desk or nightstand charger. Satechi’s charger has this amazing balance of being robust enough to be a desk charger, yet light enough to fold up and take with you.

There are a bunch of other small details that I think separate this charger from others. First is the MagSafe portion, which is covered in soft-touch rubber reminiscent of the iPad Magic Keyboard. Satechi did this, so if you do place your naked iPhone on the charger, it would protect the iPhone even more. Another nice touch is the wireless charging pad for your AirPods. There is a slight divet in the base, so your AirPods have a place to live. The reason for this is that you can align your AirPods perfectly every time. I have had chargers in the past where I put the AirPods down and get the little chime indicating they’re charging. But then, in the middle of the night, that chime goes off over and over because it’s misaligned. This design aspect of Satechi’s charger eliminates that annoyance. The last highlight is its portability. I plan to use this as my desk charger, but if I wanted to, I could fold it completely flat and tuck it into a backpack pocket for on-the-go use.

Lastly, the charging speeds are all fast charging. Even when at full capacity, nothing gets hot to the touch. The Apple Watch fast charger is the most beneficial for me. I put it on that charger for 30 minutes a day, and I am set to go.

Pricing, availability, & final thoughts

Satechi’s new Qi2.2 wireless charger is available today on Amazon for $129. As of writing this article, there is a 10% code that can be redeemed directly on the Amazon product page, bringing the price down to $117. It comes in the one Space Black color but includes everything needed in the box.

This charger is perfect for all of my needs. The only thing I would have added is magnets to the bottom of the AirPods charger for an even more confident alignment. I have not had any alignment issues with their divet solution, but I just love magnets. If you are in the market for a new charger for your big 3, or if you know someone who needs a charger, this would be a fantastic gift or purchase for anyone looking for an upgrade.
