Leaker reveals new iPhone Ultra feature, release timing update

Weibo leaker Fixed Focus Digital has shared a new post about the iPhone Ultra today that reveals a feature not rumored before—a vapor chamber—alongside a release timing update.

iPhone Ultra to have vapor chamber for cooling, with September launch still planned per leaker

Apple continues preparing for mass production of its foldable iPhone Ultra, and as such new leaks keep arriving about what to expect.

The latest details come from Fixed Focus Digital, who posted today that the iPhone Ultra has “impressive VC [vapor chamber] cooling performance” (translated).

This is the first we’ve heard of iPhone Ultra featuring a vapor chamber.

Apple added vapor chambers to iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max last year, and they seem to have been a big success.

Vapor chambers, combined with the switch to aluminum, has done wonders for the iPhone’s ability to sustain performance at high levels. iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro, by contrast, had issues with overheating under strain.

iPhone Ultra adding a vapor chamber in such a thin frame is surprising, but good news. It helps alleviate some of my concerns about the device’s use of titanium in the frame.

Alongside this reveal, the leaker says that all signs indicate iPhone Ultra is on track for a September release as originally planned. This is despite various rumors about production hurdles.

Finally, the leaker teased that they will have further big news to share tomorrow related to Apple’s foldable.
