Apple unveils foldable iPhone Duo

Apple has officially unveiled the highly anticipated foldable iPhone, and it’s called iPhone Duo. Here’s everything you need to know.

iPhone Duo

  • 7.6-inch Super Retina XDR inner display, 5.4-inch outer display. Custom nano-texture finish that minimizes crease visibility and reduces glare. Apple-designed coating for scratch resistance. The FaceTime camera is hidden under the inner display.
  • Apple Pencil support coming later this year.
  • Touch ID is integrated into the side button for biometric authentication. You can enroll multiple fingers. You can also unlock iPhone Duo with Apple Watch.
  • Speakers on top and bottom for spatial audio.
  • Star white and night sky colors, made from grade 5 titanium.
  • IP68 for dust and water resistance.
  • Support for Split View multitasking: you can pin videos to the top of the display and keep using the other half.
  • You can use it in any orientation or pose; iOS intelligently reacts to position. You can also use it partially folded.
  • Standby has been reimagined for iPhone Duo.
  • Powered by A20 Pro with a new display engine that drives both displays simultaneously. C2 cellular modem.
  • Battery on each side: 31 hours of video playback for the inner display, 44 hours using the outer display
  • 48MP Fusion Main camera, 12MP 2x optical zoom. 4K 120fps video
  • 48MP Fusion Ultra Wide camera
  • 12MP Center Stage front camera on the outer display, FaceTime camera on the inner display
  • Accessories: iPhone Duo Folio with kickstand; a two-part case that protects each half.
  • $1,999 for 256GB model, October 16 for pre-order and available October 23
