WWDC: AT&T makes it easier to upgrade to next-gen iPhone

Yet more signs (if more are required) suggesting the next-model iPhone is on the way perhaps later today, US carrier AT&T has widened its upgrade eligibility scheme, opening up an upgrade opportunity for more existing users.

MacRumors tells us the new scheme means several readers who previously were ineligible to purchase a new subsidized iPhone now find that they are eligible.

Existing AT&T customers can check if they have seen their status change at http://wireless.att.com by clicking on “Check Upgrade Options” after they log in.

As in the example above, the new scheme could mean many customers can upgrade to a new phone much sooner at a lesser penalty.

AT&T continues to make moves seemingly preparing for a new model iPhone and more diverse carrier availability in the US.
