Russia’s second largest carrier announces iPhone deal with Apple

It’s not quite China Mobile big with autographed iPhones and press interviews, but Russian carrier Megafon announced a new three-year deal with Apple to purchase iPhones directly from the company, Reuters reports.

Megafon, Russian’s second largest carrier, previously lacked a deal with Apple to purchase iPhones directly from the company since 2009, and relied on other distributors for supplies.

Notably, Apple launched its official online store in Russia last year increasing its presence in the region after historically having difficulties in the region.
